Is Bioniq GO a Multivitamin, or Something Different?

Is Bioniq GO a Multivitamin, or Something Different?

Somebody asked me this in the shop last week and I liked the question, because it is the sceptical version rather than the excited one. They had read about Bioniq GO, worked out that it is a daily supplement with a lot of nutrients in it, and wanted to know whether that is just a multivitamin wearing a nicer jumper.

It is a fair thing to be suspicious about. “Personalised” is a word that has been stretched to breaking point, and plenty of things marketed as new turn out to be the same thing in a different tub. So here is my honest answer, with the ways it genuinely differs and the ways it honestly does not.

Where the two do overlap

Let me be even-handed and start with what a sceptic gets right. Bioniq GO is a daily supplement you take once a day. It contains vitamins and minerals. It is not a meal, not a medicine, and not a replacement for eating properly. In that broad sense, yes — it sits on the same shelf of your life as a multivitamin does.

Anyone who tells you it is a completely different category of thing is overselling it. It is a daily supplement. The difference is in how the contents get decided, and that turns out to matter more than it sounds.

Where it stops being a multivitamin

A traditional multivitamin is one recipe. It is designed for a broad average of everybody — every age, every diet, every routine — and the same tub goes to the 24-year-old who cycles to work and eats fish four times a week, and to the 55-year-old who is on their feet all day and never touches it. One formula, one audience of millions.

Bioniq GO starts from the other end. You take the free Wellness Assessment first — about ten minutes, questions about how you eat, how your week runs, your age and what you would like to support — and your answers match you to one of 40 formulas. That is the whole distinction in one line: a multivitamin is chosen by you from a shelf, a Bioniq formula is matched to you from a set.

Forty is a number I like precisely because it is not infinite. Nobody is blending something unique in a lab for you. But forty options with a structured questionnaire in front of them is a meaningfully different proposition from one option and a hopeful guess.

The practical differences you would actually notice

  • Granules, not pills. Premium Swiss granules, taken as a single daily dose. If big capsules have quietly put you off supplements before, this is the bit that changes your day-to-day experience most.
  • Up to 23 science-backed nutrients in one dose. Rather than a multivitamin plus two or three extras you bought separately and now have to remember.
  • It arrives on repeat. Bioniq GO is a subscription, which is worth knowing going in. A daily supplement only earns its keep if you actually take it daily, and running out on a Tuesday is how routines die.
  • No blood test involved. Nothing to post off, no appointment. Your answers do the matching, which is the point — a process you never start supports nothing at all.
  • Vegan-friendly. One fewer label to squint at in the kitchen.

So which should you be taking?

I am not going to pretend there is one answer, because there is not. If you already take a multivitamin, you get on with it and it fits your budget and your routine, that is a perfectly reasonable place to be. Consistency beats optimisation, and I would rather you took something simple every day than something clever twice a month.

Where I do think the personalised route earns its place is when the generic answer has stopped feeling like it fits — when your diet has changed, when your goals have (skin, hair and nails; everyday energy and focus; an active lifestyle; long-term wellbeing), or when you have quietly accumulated four half-finished tubs in a cupboard because you kept buying single vitamins to plug gaps you were guessing at. I went into the comparison in more depth in personalised vs generic multivitamins, if you want the longer version.

One more thing worth saying plainly: none of this replaces eating well. Food supplements are not a substitute for a varied, balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle. Whatever you take, it works alongside your meals rather than instead of them — which is why I usually suggest people get their everyday nutrition steady first, and treat supplements as the layer on top. If you want to see how that layer fits together on my side of the shop, the Targeted Nutrition range is where I would start.

The short answer

Is Bioniq GO a multivitamin? Not in the sense that most people mean it. It is a daily supplement, yes, but the contents are decided by a questionnaire about you rather than by an average of everyone. Whether that difference is worth it to you is genuinely your call — and the honest way to find out is to answer the questions and see what comes back.

The assessment is free, takes about ten minutes and there is no obligation at the end of it, so you can find out what you would be matched to before you decide anything. When you are ready, you can build your personalised formula and take it from there.
