Somebody asked me this on the doorstep last week, holding the box like it might explain itself: “But how does it know?” Forty formulas exist, one of them turns up with your name on it, and there is no clinic visit anywhere in the middle. It sounds like a leap.
It is less mysterious than it looks, and I think knowing how the matching works makes people answer the questions better — which is really the point. So here is what is going on underneath.
The short version: it is a sorting job, not a guess
When you take the free Wellness Assessment, you are not filling in a form that gets filed somewhere. You are narrowing a field. Forty formulas sounds like a lot until you realise each answer you give quietly rules a chunk of them out, and what survives at the end is the one that fits the shape of your answers best.
No blood test, no kit in the post, no waiting. That surprises people, and I understand why — we have been trained to think personalisation has to involve a needle. It does not have to, when the questions are the right questions.
What your answers are actually telling it
Broadly, three things, and they pull in different directions:
- Where you are in life. Your age is doing real work here. What a body is asking for at thirty is not identical to what it asks for at fifty-five, and the formula shifts accordingly.
- How you actually eat. Not how you meant to eat this week. If you rarely touch fish, or you have been vegan for a decade, or breakfast is usually a coffee on the train — that changes what is worth including.
- What you are aiming at. Supporting normal skin, hair and nails is a different target from everyday energy and focus, or an active lifestyle, or steady long-term wellbeing. This is the answer that tends to move the formula most.
Which is why I nudge people to have a think about that last one before they sit down with it, rather than picking whatever sounds nicest on the day. I wrote more about that in choosing your wellness goals before your Bioniq assessment.
Where the honesty matters
Here is the one bit of advice I would give anybody starting it. The assessment can only work with what you tell it, so a flattering answer produces a formula built for a person you are not. Nobody is marking you. Say that you skip breakfast, say that your veg intake is thin, say that you sit down all day if you do — those are the answers that make the match useful rather than decorative.
What comes back is a single daily dose of premium Swiss granules, holding up to 23 science-backed nutrients, blended for the answers you gave. No pills to swallow, and it is vegan-friendly. Food supplements are not a substitute for a varied, balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle — the formula sits alongside your meals, it does not stand in for them.
And it is not a decision you are stuck with
People treat the assessment like an exam with one sitting. It is not. Lives move — you start training, the job changes, a birthday with a nought in it goes past — and you can answer again and let the formula follow you. That flexibility is a large part of why I am comfortable recommending it: nothing about the match is permanent.
One last thing, since it comes up. Bioniq was founded in London in 2019, and its personalised nutrition business is now part of Herbalife. That connection is why it sits naturally alongside the rest of what I stock, and if you would rather build your routine from goal-specific products instead, my targeted nutrition range is the place to browse.
But if the idea of not choosing — of answering a set of questions honestly and letting the blend be worked out for you — is the appealing bit, then go and build your personalised formula and see which of the forty your answers point to. It takes a few minutes, it costs nothing to find out, and you can discover Bioniq GO for yourself before committing to anything.
